This is a floor mount wedge that holds a door in place. You slide it under the door edge and the door rests on top of it, so the door stays put instead of drifting or banging into the wall behind it. The wedge is made of ABS, a hard plastic that wipes clean and holds its shape under a door.
It is sold as a single piece, so order the number you need for the doors you want to hold. The wedge sits on the floor and needs no mounting hardware.
The wedge measures 3-5/8 x 1-9/16 in (93 x 40 mm). It comes in two heights, and the height you choose has to match the gap under your door.
| Height | Best for |
|---|---|
| 9/16 in (14 mm) | Doors with a lower gap, such as interior doors that sit close to the floor |
| 1-1/8 in (28 mm) | Doors with a taller gap, such as many exterior and heavier interior doors |
Measure the gap under your door before you order. If the gap is taller than 1-1/8 in (28 mm), this wedge will not hold the door and is not the right choice.
The wedge comes in six options, so you can match the floor or keep it out of sight:
White blends with light floors and trim. Black reads as a shadow on dark floors. Transparent blue stays subtle on most surfaces.
Set the wedge on the floor with the thick end facing the door. Push it under the door edge with your foot until the door rests on the top face. The door's weight holds the wedge in place, so there is nothing to drill and nothing to install.
To release the door, pull the wedge out with your foot or hand. Keep the wedge near the door you use it on, or store it in a drawer when it is not in use.
A few notes on placement:
Wipe the wedge with a dry cloth. That is all it needs. Do not soak it or run it through a dishwasher. If the wedge picks up dust or grit, a dry wipe keeps the surface clean and the grip steady.
This wedge suits interior doors, bathroom doors, office doors and any door you want to hold at an open position. It is a simple answer for a door that swings shut on its own or drifts into a wall. Because it is a floor mount piece, it leaves the door and the wall untouched.
Measure the gap under your door. Choose the 9/16 in option for a lower gap, or the 1-1/8 in option for a taller gap. If the gap is taller than 1-1/8 in (28 mm), this wedge will not hold the door.
The wedge is made of ABS and sits on the floor under the door edge. It holds the door in place without mounting anything to the door or the wall.
It is sold as a single piece. Order the number of wedges you need for the doors you want to hold open.
It works best on hard floors and low pile carpet, where the wedge can sit flat. Keep the floor under it clean and dry so it does not slide.
