What it is and what it is made of

The Hidden Magnetic Door Stopper is a small stainless steel catch that mounts to the wall or the floor and holds a door in the open position. A magnet does the work, so there is no arm to kick and no rubber tip to wear down. The body is stainless steel in your choice of silver or black, and it wipes clean with a dry cloth.

Because the stopper sits low and close to the surface, it reads as a quiet detail rather than a piece of hardware. That makes it a good fit for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms and any door that tends to swing shut on its own.

Sizes and colors

Detail Measurement
Overall size 2-5/8 x 2-3/8 x 1-5/16 in (66 x 60 x 34 mm)
Maximum door gap 1-5/16 in (34 mm)
Color options Silver, Black
Sold as Single

Measure the gap under your door before you order. If the gap is taller than 1-5/16 in (34 mm), this stopper will not reach the door and is not the right choice.

How to fit it

You have two ways to mount it. The first is screws, and four are included. Drive them from the front of the stopper into the wall or the floor for a hold that stays put. The second is adhesive, which suits tile, painted trim and other smooth surfaces where you would rather not drill.

Pick the spot where the door should stop. Set the stopper so the magnet meets the door face or the bottom edge, depending on how you mount it. Press the door open until it meets the magnet and let it hold. Check the gap first, then mark your spot, then fix the stopper in place.

For a wall mount, choose a point on the wall that the door face reaches when it is open. For a floor mount, set it under the door so the magnet catches the bottom edge. Either way, keep the stopper clear of the door swing so nothing scrapes.

Where it works well

Use it on interior doors that swing open and stay open, such as bedroom doors, bathroom doors and closet doors. It also suits doors that drift closed in a draft. The low profile keeps it out of the path of feet and vacuum cleaners.

Skip it for doors with a tall gap under them, and skip it for heavy exterior doors that need a sturdier stop. This is a light-duty holder for the doors you use every day.

Care

Wipe the stainless steel with a dry cloth. That is all it needs. Avoid wet cleaners and abrasive pads, which can dull the finish over time. Check the screws or the adhesive once a season and tighten or reseat if the stopper shifts.

Questions

Will this door stopper work on my door?

It fits doors with a gap of 1-5/16 in (34 mm) or less. Measure the space under the door before ordering. If the gap is taller, this stopper will not reach.

Does it come with screws?

Yes, four screws are included. You can also mount it with adhesive if you prefer not to drill. Both options are built into the design.

Can I use it on the wall instead of the floor?

Yes. It mounts to the wall or the floor, and the magnet holds the door in the open position either way. Pick the spot where the door face or bottom edge meets the stopper.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it with a dry cloth. Skip wet cleaners and abrasive pads so the stainless steel finish stays even.
