This lever handle lock set is a handle and lock in one unit. The body is black manganese steel, a dense metal with a dark, even finish that suits painted doors, stained wood and plain white trim alike. A lever handle is easy to work with a full hand, a wrist or an elbow when your arms are full.

The set fixes with screws from the back of the door. That means no screw heads show on the face of the plate, so the front of the door stays smooth and simple. The lever moves cleanly as the door opens and closes.

Measure your door before you order. If it is thicker than 2 in (50 mm), this set is not the right fit. For a standard door within that range, the two screw lengths let you match the set to the door and the frame.

How to fit it

This is a screw-from-the-back set, so plan the install around the back plate.

Check the door thickness and confirm it is 2 in (50 mm) or less.
Mark the handle height on both sides of the door so the two sides line up.
Fit the set from the back of the door and drive the screws through the back plate.
Use the 1 in (25 mm) screws for thinner doors and the 1-3/4 in (45 mm) screws where you need more length.
Test the lever and the lock, then tighten the screws evenly so the plate sits flat.

A helper makes the job easier, since one person can hold the set in place while the other drives the screws. If you are replacing an old set, keep the old screws until the new ones are seated, in case you need to compare lengths.

Care

Wipe the set with a dry cloth. A dry cloth lifts dust and fingerprints without leaving water spots or streaks on the black finish. Skip wet cloths, sprays and abrasive pads, since the finish does not need them and moisture can sit in the moving parts.
