Most bar pulls stand on thin posts. These stand on flat round feet that sit flush on the door, which gives the pull a sturdier look and a clean line where metal meets paint or wood. The bar has a fine knurl along its length with a smooth band at each end, so the grip and the trim read as two separate details.
Choose by hole centers, measured between the middles of the two screw holes.
All three stand 1-7/16 in (36 mm) off the door. The short size fits standard drawers, the middle size most doors, and the long one tall pantry or wardrobe doors.
Brushed brass starts out a soft, even gold. Over the years it can mellow where hands touch it most, which many people like on a pull they use every day. To keep it even, wipe it with a soft damp cloth, dry it, and skip scouring pads and ammonia-based sprays.
A knurled pull pairs well with plain round knobs in the same brass. Use the pull on drawers and doors you open with a full hand, and knobs on small doors where a pull would crowd the panel.
Each foot has a threaded hole, and two screws from inside the door pull the feet tight to the surface. On a new door, mark both hole centers with a square, drill a little larger than the screw, and tighten until the feet sit flat without crushing the paint.
Hole centers are the distance from the middle of one screw hole to the middle of the other. It is the only number that has to match your door; the overall length can be anything that fits the drawer front.
A common rule is a pull about one third of the drawer's width. That puts the 3-3/4 in (96 mm) size on drawers up to about 18 in (46 cm) wide, the 5-1/16 in (128 mm) size on 18 to 24 in (46 to 61 cm) drawers, and the 8-13/16 in (224 mm) size on wider ones.
Yes. The bar and feet are brass all the way through, with a brushed finish. When a brushed brass surface wears, there is more brass underneath, not gray zinc.
Yes. Bar pulls work vertically on doors and horizontally on drawers. On wall cabinets, set the pull near the bottom corner of the door; on base cabinets, near the top corner.
Delivery to US addresses is $6.95, and free on orders from $49. Every order ships with tracking.
The knurl is fine and even, so it feels grippy rather than sharp. It gives a sure hold when your hands are wet, and the smooth bands at the ends keep the edges soft.
