Brass House Number and Letter Sign

What it is

This is a single solid brass sign for your address. It shows one character, either a number or a letter, and it mounts flat against the wall or door. The brass has a polished finish that reads warm and bright in daylight.

The sign is 4 in (101 mm) tall. That height suits a mailbox, a front door, an apartment door or a post by the walk. Because it is solid brass, it has real weight in the hand and a clean edge.

You choose one character per sign. Each order is a single sign, so order the count you need for your address.

If your address needs a character that is not listed, this sign is not the right fit.

How to fit it

Two screws hold the sign. They go in from the front, so the heads stay visible on the face of the sign. Screws are included with your order.

Mark your holes first. Hold the sign where you want it, level it, and mark through the two holes with a pencil or a thin nail. Drill pilot holes sized for your wall or door, then drive the screws in from the front until the sign sits snug.

This sign is not for doors thicker than 2 in (50 mm). Check your door thickness before you order. For a wall, brick or post, use the right drill bit and wall plug for that surface.

A few notes that help:

• Lay out your full address on the wall with paper templates or painter tape before you drill.
• Keep the numbers or letters on one level line.
• On a door, keep the sign clear of the handle swing.
• On a mailbox, check that the sign does not block the flag or the latch.

Care

Wipe the sign with a dry cloth. That is all it needs for routine cleaning. Skip wet cloths, sprays and polishes, since they can leave streaks or dull the polished face. If the brass darkens over time, that is normal for the metal and part of its look.
